After four years of hard work Kevin, Stacie, and Carolyn all got their bachelors degree from Brigham Young University. We are so proud of them for their dedication and hard work. This is quite an accomplishment.
A bunch of pretty COOL graduates.
A tender moment as Brent kisses his wife after the commencement ceremony. Carolyn earned her degree in special education.
Kevin and Stacie look great in their cap and gown. Kevin has his degree in English and Stacie has hers in Psychology. Kevin graduated cum laude.
It was an incredible weekend as we watched these three get their diplomas. We are so proud of each of them.
Grandma came down for the special occasion. It was a little emotional not having my dad there. Carolyn will be teaching special ed at an elementary school in Provo and Kevin is in grad school to get his doctoral degree in Midevil literature so he can teach at a university. My dad would have been so proud that his grandchildren had followed in his footsteps and want to teach.
We had over six hours of convocations on Friday but mom sure didn't care. It was great to be there for all of it. I love this picture with my kids.
After a full day of graduation we started loading the moving van bright and early on Saturday morning. Kevin and Stacie were moving to New Mexico for Kevin to attend graduate school and Stacie had a brand new job at the university of New Mexico. Good luck you two.
We got them all loaded and had to say our goodbyes that night. Grant was also moving back to Wisconsin. I tried to be a brave soul....but I couldn't hold back the tears. Seeing them all move even farther away from home was pretty difficult....but I think it was even harder for Brent and Carolyn to say good-bye. These guys have become the fabulous five. They did everything together and they are going to all miss each other terribly.
After we got Kevin and Stacie on their way we spent Sunday with Carolyn and Brent. We went to the temple grounds and took some pictures. Brent asked Carolyn to marry him at the Provo Temple grounds.
Zone 20 from the MTC was on a walk and we got to see Elder Jackson. Just for a few short moments. He was on a bench and we headed to the van so he wouldn't break any rules...but he stood up and started bearing his testimony in Spanish. He walked over to us and I wanted to hug him so badly. He reached his hand out and shook all of our hands. We snapped a picture. All these Elders are going to Mexico and they all shared a room with Chris. Chris said Adios and he was on his way. It was a perfect ending to a fabulous and rewarding weekend. Seeing our three graduate from university and then seeing Chris so happy at the MTC we felt such joy that weekend.
